Pretend to show me love Just to gain my trust Bet you never thought I’d get past you I came in bright eyed bushy tailed A gullible rookie fail Showin' up to the playground with a shovel and a pale Was tryin to build a castle made of obstacles and hassle Imagine tryna stop Steve Jobs from making Apple Imagine making so many beats that you could retire Imagine making enemies out of those you admire Imagine bein' so raw that they wishin' you would expire This irrefutable greatness with audible qualifiers That's 712 contacts in the Rolodex I’m paranoid Who gon' try to pigeonhole me next? Who else gon' try to act like I ain’t what I say I am? Like I ain’t on my Diddy and get with Daven and make a band I wish that people would call less and just pay more Come watch me blow It's all mine I'm Mr. Claymore Claim to be a fan a supporter Let’s hear you say more Opposition slain and I'm forecasted to slay more Pretend to show me love Just to gain my trust Bet you never thought I’d get past you Pretend to show me love Just to gain my trust Bet you never thought I’d get past you

I’m not just talking I wanna be down for you Do all things that people do When they’re together But I know better There is a lot That stands in between us I know we got And it ain’t love So what’s the rush? You text me how feel Say it's so If it’s real From your heart to your soul To me you were beautiful You text me how feel Say it so If it’s real From your heart to your soul For me I gotta let you go When I was good with having you It took so long to speak the truth What I say to you is over due You will be better without me So much better without me We tried to leave it to chance Without even standing a chance Completely ignoring truth Like we don't have a clue Like I ain’t been through this time and time Again again with you You be aggravatin' my soul Every time you bang my line You just wanna fuss and waste all my time He say, she say, we say, hang up then you Text me how feel Say it's so If it’s real From your heart to your soul To me you were beautiful You text me how feel Say it so If it’s real From your heart to your soul For me I gotta let you go When I was good with having you It took so long to speak the truth What I say to you is over due You will be better without me So much better without me When I was good with having you It took so long to speak the truth What I say to you is over due You will be better without me So much better without me

Momma always said don’t overemphasize the prize Don’t let them people dangle that karat between yo eyes Don’t let yo downfall be the result of your surprise And when you make it to the top You don’t forget about the Christ I can see so many things beyond the naked eye Industry seem so strong until you view it from inside These people they do the most for the cost of burgers and fries Entire dynasties and legacies founded upon a lie Exposin’ the truth is met with the accusation of hate And if you get to you loud yo people might find you dead in the lake The very ones who did it be the first to show up at the wake With the falsified sympathy and the tissues for family pain Often ridiculed for having a soul and having a brain Cuz having both of those delay the time it takes to get paid It’s like a player sent to the bench right after the huddle Correction sir its just the Humble Man's Struggle What do you do when you know so much but you can’t speak? When it’s so close to you but you can’t reach? When they make what is evil look and taste so sweet? Makin’ sure people like just you are never to be seen? Cost a couple of thousand just to get a record made Go head and throw in your soul and maybe you can get it played Gotta keep quiet and continue the holy hustle Ladies and gentlemen this is the Humble Man's Struggle I get question all the time How is that you haven’t blown like military mines? How is it that you drive a car purchased in ’05? Amongst the stars, within the industry I thought you would’ve thrived I mean thought you would’ve had a house or two by now How come them people that you know don’t ever shout you out? You mean to tell me they won’t work with you because of clout? Because your heart is full of venue seats that never sell out? That’s a game you know your boy was never qualified to play To be an industry fraud who’s searchin’ for his claim to fame Before you ever can abound you get your strength being abased And when He give it to you, no one else can come take it away No, no, no, no, no, no Takes a great deal of time and patience To influence and affect a whole generation So when you hear my records See my band and all the hustle You’ll under stand the beauty of the Humble Man’s Struggle What do you do when you know so much but you can’t speak? When it’s so close to you but you can’t reach? When they make what is evil look and taste so sweet? Makin’ sure people like just you are never to be seen? Cost a couple of thousand just to get a record made Go head and throw in your soul and maybe you can get it played Gotta keep quiet and continue the holy hustle Ladies and gentlemen this is the Humble Man's Struggle What do you do when you know so much but you can’t speak? When it’s so close to you but you can’t reach? When they make what is evil look and taste so sweet? Makin’ sure people like just you are never to be seen? Cost a couple of thousand just to get a record made Go head and throw in your soul and maybe you can get it played Gotta keep quiet and continue the holy hustle Ladies and gentlemen this is the Humble Man's Struggle

Overthinking Steady overthinking it all How should I, how should I handle my heart? So many ways to play this Don't know if I should say it Goodness gracious I think that I'm falling apart How will I manage? This love'll do you damage All the things that could surface Will they all be worth it? Are you feeling how I'm feeling? Do you know the things your dealing with? My heart is yours for stealing Though it needs a bit of healing Help me get this off my chest Or else it won’t be safe for me inside my head I’m hoping that you hear me when I say I love you Just don’t leave me here alone without you I can’t breathe whenever you’re not here I’m drowning Help me get above the waves They’re crashing on me Take my hand and pull me out the water Free my mind they say and the rest’ll follow Overthinking Steady overthinking it all Overthinking Steady overthinking it all I be lost in my mind Can’t find the time to ever get right All in my head That’s what keeps us apart Blind from the start Shots in the dark I will never hit my target If I forfeit my heart Win or lose Win That separates boys from men Comin' out with your soul But I knew that going in Fragile are my feelings Still waiting on healing All this and then some I’m still overthinking So please tell me How will I manage? This love'll do you damage All the things that could surface Will they all be worth it? Are you feeling how I'm feeling? Do you know the things your dealing with? My heart's yours for stealing Though it needs a bit of healing Help me get this off my chest Or else it won’t be safe for me inside my head I’m hoping that you hear me when I say I love you Just don’t leave me here alone without you I can’t breathe whenever you’re not here I’m drowning Help me get above the waves They’re crashing on me Take my hand and pull me out the water Free my mind they say and the rest’ll follow Overthinking Steady overthinking it all

about

Reuniting with director, Nathan Cheney, Keith Phelps is providing music for the All New Sitcom, “Baker’s Boys” starring famed comedian, Tony Baker ( NBC’s The Last Comic Standing, The Carmichael Show, HBO’s All DEF Comedy). The release of the sitcom coincides with the release of a soundtrack from Phelps that features brand new music. The appropriately titled, OLA (Only Legendary Attempts) features a few familiar names and voices you’ve grown accustomed to hearing alongside Phelps. Producer, Ellis Woolfork opens the project with “Euthanasia” a track that allows Keith to flawlessly reflect on his journey thus far in the music industry. Frequent collaborators James Adkins and Brandon Joyner also return to lend their genius touches to the project. It’s clear and evident that Keith Phelps’ Real Music Affiliates will not accept anything less than maximum effort. Only Legendary Attempts from here on out.
